Reebok Runtone Toning Shoes for Running

There are many toning shoes on the market, with most of the major shoe manufacturers producing a range of shoes to get more out of the time spent exercising. Toning shoes have enjoyed a huge surge in popularity over the past 2 years, with an explosion of styles and designs to make walking more of a muscle toning workout. However, whilst many brands were quick to jump on the bandwagon and produce shoes for walking, few have produced a model specifically for runners and joggers. If you are a male runner or jogger, your chances of finding a choice of styles becomes even more limited, with toning shoes primarily being made for the female market.

However all this has recently changed with the introduction of Reebok Runtones, which are toning shoes specifically designed for running and jogging. The shoes bear a close resemblance to the Reebok Easytone, which was one of the first highly fashionable toning shoes on the market, and certainly one of the most popular. The stylish shoes have been popular with women looking to get a toning workout throughout the day, and these shoes promise to be just as popular with more energetic exercisers.

Reebok Runtones feature an instability pod outsole which creates a slightly unstable base when running. The outsole features 8 pods, with 5 small pods on the heel for greater stability, and 3 on the forefoot. The pods provide traction, and cover 6 air filled pods in the midsole. When running, the air shifts inside the pods creating muscle activating instabilities to get the lower body working harder with each step. Runtones will get the buttocks, calves and hamstrings working harder to improve strength and endurance, whilst they help to get better lower body tone.

Part of the problem with toning shoes for running is that toning technology lacks the required stability. Reebok have tacked this issue by using a much more stable design, which still creates the instabilities to get the muscles working harder but at a lower level than the Easytone to ensure that balance is not unduly affected. By increasing the number of outsole pods, the body weight is more evenly spread around the whole shoe, and DMX Shear cushioning is used in the heel to help dissipate the shock waves generated when running. Reebok have used the same Easytone SmoothFit seamless lining, which makes them highly comfortable to wear, with no internal seams to cause abrasion when running.

If you want to get more out of your run, whilst still having the comfort and support of running shoes, then these shoes are the natural choice, and will get your lower body looking better in a fraction of the time.
